Preschoolers 3-4 years

An Exceptional Learning Experience

Like toddlers, these early years are extremely important years for learning.  Our program is structured around a play-based curriculum, and focuses on multiple areas of development as the 3-4 year old's are cognitively, socially, and emotionally prepared to absorb more information.  Preschoolers are encouraged to be independent, make their own decisions, control their emotions and impulses, see from others' perspectives, negotiate differences with others, and make friends.  Planned whole group and small group activities prompt preschoolers to observe teachers as they model these type of behaviors.

The areas of development covered by our preschool program includes, but is not limited to:

  • Social and emotional development

  • Communication (talking and listening)

  • Creative and aesthetic development

  • Language and Literacy

  • Mathematical awareness

  • Physical health and development

  • Play

  • Teamwork

  • Self-help skills

  • Scientific thinking

While our program uses a play-based curriculum to benefit children of all ages, developmental level, and skills, it is the home environment that has great impact.  With this knowledge, we encourage consistent and open lines of communication with families regarding our activities, and strategies that can be used at home as well.  We encourage families to become involved and participate in our school activities for each child's successful development.
